The Otto Schott Research Award that was first presented in 1991 is bestowed every two years to recognize outstanding scientific achievements in international glass research. The award valued at 25,000 euros is mainly intended for younger researchers of up to 45 years of age.Candidates who are able to provide references on their excellent scientific performances in fundamental research and/or technology development in the areas of special materials, components and systems in the fields of optics, electronics, solar power, health and living are welcome to apply for the Otto Schott Research Award 2012.June 30, 2011, is the final deadline for submitting applications by mail or e-mail by writing to the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft (Donors’ Association for the Promotion of Sciences), Barkhovenallee 1, 45239 Essen (Heidhausen), Germany.
