Roger Stempky Joins Special-Lite

Special-Lite Inc., a Michigan-based manufacturer of commercial entrance systems, announced the appointment of Roger Stempky to the position of assistant vice president, sales and marketing, according to a Sept. 24 company release. In this new position, Stempky will assume responsibility for the sales and marketing activities of the company, and will have full responsibility at the end of 2013, upon the retirement of W. Dow Ruch, vice president of sales and marketing.Stempky joins Special-Lite after more than 25 years in sales and management positions in the interior architectural components and office furnishings industries. Following a six-year stint as an independent sales rep for Teknion interior products, Stempky spent 14 years with Custer Workplace Interiors, a supplier of interior furnishings for commercial spaces, where he opened the Kalamazoo/Battle Creek location and served as general manager, and later regional manager for the offices in Southwest Michigan. Most recently he was founder and president of Nxtwall, a maker of movable interior wall panels, and joined Special-Lite after selling his interest in the company, according to the release.
