PGT Industries Doubles Profits, Increases Sales

PGT Industries, a Florida-based supplier of hurricane-impact systems for residential, storefront and condo applications, doubled second quarter profits from last year, and recorded its highest sales since the first quarter of 2007, according to a July 31 Herald-Tribune report.

Profits for the quarter were $9.9 million, compared with $3.69 million a year ago; sales were $62.8 million, according to the report. The report attributes the sales and profit growth to a rebounding new homes market.
