The European Union is again the number one purchaser of Italian glass processing machines, accessories and special products after forfeiting the position to the Asian market in 2011 due to a drop in demand during the 2010-2011 time period, according to a Gimav press release. Gimav, the Italian association of suppliers of machines and accessories for glass processing, recorded the upswing in a recent financial report that offered encouraging signs of growth for industry exports, according to the release.European exports have been on the rise since 2009, even though their performance had its ups and downs through the end of 2012, according to the release. Total growth was 3.44 percent, with flat glass maintaining the already healthy gains it achieved in 2011, Gimav reports.
