More than 50 million sq. m. of energy saving glass are needed until 2010

In the China Glass New Technology and Product Fair 2008, new energy saving glass products are displayed, among which hollow glass becomes the main product of energy saving glass technology.

As now our country reinforces energy conservation and emission reduction, energy-saving architectural glass and photovoltaic glass have led the direction of developing China-made glass in the future. Companies have focused on the development of energy-saving and environmental-friendly glass, such as Low-E glass, hollow glass, ultra-white photovoltaic glass and photovoltaic-film conductive glass.

As to architectural glass, Low-e glass and hollow glass are more important in the condition of energy shortage, intensified environment pollution and the need for constructing resource conserving and environmentally friendly society. Low-E glass is an energy-saving glass with the fastest demand growth rate in recent years and the demand for it will be more than 50 million sq. m. until 2010.

It is learnt that ultra-white photovoltaic glass, as a protector of the clear glass in solar panel, is more and more widely used. It is applied to high-quality monocrystal silicon and polysilicon solar photovoltaic panel to improve the photoelectric transformation efficiency of the silicon cell. It has become an ideal packing material for solar panels and solar cells.
