Architectural Glass and Aluminum, a western U.S. curtain-wall manufacturer/installer, has tripled the size of its Northern California operations center with its move to a new facility in Livermore, Calif. The move enables the firm to combine manufacturing and engineering operations with corporate offices in a 175,000-square-foot building on a 10-acre site.
“The new Livermore location will streamline manufacturing and distribution of AGA’s finished goods, in support of the West Coast and Hawaii regional offices," said John Buckley, president, in a release. "The new facility provides a significant increase in overall manufacturing capacity, complementing advancement in state-of-the-art BIM-to-CNC technology, as well as investments we’ve made in lean manufacturing and business process improvements... ."
The new facility will be capable of operating around the clock, seven days a week, according to company officials. In addition, the new headquarters will serve as a facility for meeting with clients during design collaboration and/or educational presentations. Initially, there will be approximately 80 employees at the new location; however, staffing is expected to grow in excess of 100 shortly, according to the release.
