The U.S. green building market will continue to accelerate for both the residential and nonresidential sectors, despite the slow economy, according to McGraw-Hill Construction's 2013 Dodge Construction Green Outlook report, released Nov. 15.
By 2012, 55 percent of all commercial and institutional construction is expected to be green building, up from 44 percent in 2012, according to the forecast. On the residential side, green home building and renovation is expected to grow from 20 percent in 2012 to 38 percent in 2016.
