DORMA acquires Rutherford Controls International Corp.

DORMA has acquired the Rutherford Controls Int’l Corp.throughits DORMA Americas susidiary. This acquisition extends DORMA’s portfolio of ANSI-compliant electromechanical access control products and systems, and strengthens DORMA’s presence in the North American market, according to a release. Headquartered in Cambridge, Ontario, RCI also has a subsidiary in Virginia, a new warehouse opening in southern California, and a sales network of more than 50 agents across North and South America.

The RCI brand will be retained, and RCI management will remain actively involved in leading the business, according to the release. The acquisition was finalized November 8, 2012, with the RCI workforce officially joining the DORMA Group on that date.
