Apogee Enterprises, Inc.,parent company of Viracon, Harmon, Wausau Window and Wall Systems, Linetec, and Tubelite,announced revenues for the FY2013 second quarter were up 6 percent, with architectural segment revenues seeing a 5 percent increase as a result of share gains in the installation and storefront businesses. Backlog grew 32 percent, up $72 million to $299 million in the quarter.
“Our architectural segment backlog reached its highest level in 12 quarters and grew by more than 30 percent year on year, as our bidding activity strengthens,” said Joseph Puishys, CEO, in a release.
Company officials pointed to higher architectural glass pricing, storefront and installation volume growth, and good operational performance as the reasons behind the architectural segment growth.
