National Glass Association officials announced that Jim Gandorf has joined the organization as vice president, Association Services, effective October 1. He succeeds David Walker, whois leaving the NGA to become president and CEO of the Coalition to Salute America’s Heroes, for which Walker has served as the volunteer chairman since 2009.
Gandorf brings more than two decades of experience in the not-for-profit sector to the NGA. Most recently, he served as executive director of the American Board of Opticianry & National Contact Lens Examiners. Prior to that, Gandorf was executive director for the Association for Education & Rehabilitation of the Blind & Visually Impaired.
“We are very pleased to welcome Jim to the NGA team,” said Phil James, president and CEO, NGA, in a release. “Jim is an extremely talented and well-respected association executive, and I know he will be a huge asset to our organization, to our membership and to our entire industry.”
“This is obviously a bittersweet moment for the NGA and for me personally, because David has been such an integral part of our team for many years,” James continued. “We are a better organization thanks to David and we will miss his leadership and friendship, but we couldn’t be more proud of the challenge he is embarking upon now on behalf of our nation’s wounded heroes.”
