Grey Mountain purchases Insulpane of Connecticut and Orchard Glass Distributors

Grey Mountain Partners, in connection with its affiliate company Consolidated Glass Holdings Inc., acquired Insulpane of Connecticut and Orchard Glass Distributors, according to a Sept. 5 Grey Mountain release. Insulpane, Hamden, Conn., is an architectural glass fabricator and distributor serving the Northeast United States.

"We are very excited about the addition of Insulpane to our growing presence in the architectural and security glass fabrication space. The company opens up new markets for us and allows for additional cross-selling of products in conjunction with our other businesses," said Tom Ryan, CEO of CGH, in the release.

Fred Federico, president of Insulpane, added, "This partnership will enhance our overall ability to provide our customers with an even higher level of service. As our industry matures and rebounds, our company will expand its footprint in the Northeast corridor and New England markets."

In 2012, Grey Mountain also announced the purchases of Binswanger Enterprises, a designer, installer and retailer of architectural glass and aluminum products; Global Security Glazing, a manufacturer of institutional security, military, and custom architectural glass and glazing products; Custom Components Co., a manufacturer, fabricator and supplier of aluminum, stainless steel and glass architectural engineered products; Columbia Commercial Building Products, a manufacturer of high-performance extruded aluminum windows and storefronts; andthe assets of the flat glass division of Hawkins Glass Wholesalers.
