Don Wessinger, a glass and glazing industry veteran of more than 56 years, passed away, July 12, following a battle with pancreatic cancer. Wessinger began his career in 1956 as a draftsman and project manager for window-wall and curtain-wall projects. After graduating from Texas A&M University, he was owner and president of Tejas Panels from 1978-1992. Wessinger developed and patented a stone veneer product that was also patented in 26 countries and sold worldwide.
Wessinger was a successful glazing consultant that worked on many high profile projects throughout his career. Until his illness, he worked for Childress Engineering Services as principal consultant for building envelope services.
He is survived by his wife Lauretta, sons Gary and Mike, and three grandchildren, as well as multiple nieces and nephews.
