General contractor Skanska filed a motion in the Chapter 11 proceedings for subcontractor American Architectural Inc. in regard to decorative glass railings at the World Trade Center PATH Hall in New York. According to the court documents, filed June 28, Skanska subcontracted AAI to provide ornamental glass railings, select storefronts, balanced doors, smoke baffles and other miscellaneous interior glazing products at the PATH Hall—a contract amount of more than $6.2 million.

In the motion, Skanska compels AAI to "assume or reject" the subcontract for the PATH hall project within seven days.

The general contractor claimed in the motion that AAI's inability to pay vendors has interrupted work on the site, and that Skanska will incur notable costs if the subcontractor remains on the job.

American Architectural Inc.of Bensalem, Pa., filed for voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy, June 15, in the United States Bankruptcy Court Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
