CBO Glassis facing a second lawsuit stemming from claims it failed to pay amounts due under collective bargaining agreements with local unions.Trustees of the Iron Workers Local Union No. 5 and Iron Workers Employers Association, along with representatives of Local Union No. 5 of the International Association of Bridge, Structural and Ornamental Iron Workers filed suit against the contract glazier, May 10, claiming it "failed to make all contributions due for the months of November 2011 through March 2012 to the Iron Workers." The plaintiffs are seeking nearly $200,000 for unpaid contributions, liquidated damages, interest on late or unpaid payments, and costs and attorney fees, according to court documents.
The International Painters and Allied Trades Industry Pension Fund filed suit against CBO Glass, March 30, claiming the contract glazier "failed to pay amounts due under the Labor Contracts, Trust Agreements and Plan from May 2011 to February 2012 in at least the sum of $472,813.83." CBO was recently granted an extension to May 29 to file an answer to the suit.
CBO Glass ranked no. 15 on Glass Magazine's 2011 Top 50 Glaziers list, with annual sales of between $30 million and $40 million.
