PPG Industries filed a lawsuit against Jeld-Wen, alleging breach of a license agreement, according to the court complaint document, filed May 1. According to PPG's complaint, PPG granted Jeld-Wen rights and licenses to patent applications for an insulating unit with low-thermal conducting edge, and for all components required for the fabrication of the unit. Jeld-Wen would, in turn, pay royalties for those rights and licenses, according to the filing.
PPG alleges that Jeld-Wen has "failed to make its required periodic royalty payments," with damages exceeding $75,000, according to the company's complaint. PPG is requesting judgment against Jeld-Wen in excess of $75,000, together with interest and the cost of the suit, according to the complaint.
