Cardinal Tempered Glass laid off 33 employees Monday at its plant and off-site warehouse in Chehalis, Wash., according to an April 17 article in The Chronicle. Just over 100 employees remain at the plant that fabricates solar panels.
Mark Reidy, the plant manager in Chehalis, told The Chronicle that Cardinal had to lay off the employees because the Chinese are dumping solar panels into the U.S. market at a low price. “U.S. manufacturers are paying the price for it,” he is quoted as saying.
