Quanex Building Products Corp. released fiscal 2012 first quarter results for the period ending January 31, 2012, showing an increase in net sales from $159.8 million a year ago to $161.6 million in first quarter 2012. This includedEdgetech net sales of $18.9 million.
TheEngineered Products Group, which focuses on providing window and door OEMs with fenestration components, products and systems, had first quarter 2012 net sales of $99.4 million, compared to $84.0 million a year ago.
According to the release, consolidation of the company's IG spacer manufacturing facility in Barbourville, Ky., into its IG spacer manufacturing facility in Cambridge, Ohio, is expected to be complete around August 2012. At that point,the Barbourville facility will be permanently closed. "The consolidation remains on budget and on schedule," according to company officials.
