Suit filed against Trainor Glass

Trustees of the Indiana State Council of Roofers Health and Welfare Fund filed suit against Trainor Glass Co. in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana yesterday, Feb. 22. According to court documents, the fund is a "multi-employer employee benefit plan ... that provides health, welfare and other benefits for employees of employers who contribute into said plan pursuant to the requirements contained in the collective bargaining agreement between such employers and the union."

In court documents, fund trustees claim Trainor performed work and failed to make contributions to the plan per the collective bargaining agreement, beginning in November 2011. They are seeking compensation for breach of contract, along with an order that Trainor comply with said contracts.

Trainor Glass Co., which ranked No. 3 on Glass Magazine's 2011 Top 50 Glaziers list with annual sales of between $150 million and $175 million, ceased operations earlier this week.
