Investment in nonresidential construction in Saskatchewan was down 7.7 percent in the third quarter compared with the same period last year, Statistics Canada reported, Oct. 18, according to a next-day report from The Regina Leader-Post.
Nonresidential construction, which includes industrial, commercial and institutional buildings, totalled $353 million (seasonally adjusted), down from $383 million in the third quarter of 2010. Third-quarter nonresidential construction was also down 1.1 percent from $357 million in the second quarter of 2011, on par with the national average, according to the article.
