Video: Transparent photovoltaic glass debuts at GlassBuild America

During the solar seminar, Sept. 14, at GlassBuild America: The Glass, Window & Door Expo, Steve Coonen, BIPV consultant and principal, PV Glassworks, Grass Valley, Calif., introduced a transparent photovoltaic glass. Saf-Glas, www.energyglass.com, developed the laminated glass product, which uses nanoparticles to redirect portions of the light spectrum to the edge of the glass, which is lined with monocrystalline solar cells. The rest of the light spectrum passes through the glass, providing a transparent appearance.
