Austin-based Stratus Propertiesallocated $700,000for repairs to its W Austin Hotel & Residences propertyin the second quarter of 2011 as it sought to prevent glass panels from falling off the hotel, according to a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission cited by an Aug. 17 HotelNewsNow.com report.
Crews began removing almost 1,000 panes of balcony glass from the W Austin Hotel and Residences in June following several instances of spontaneous breakage.
According to the article,Stratus expects the replacement to be finished by year-end 2011.
