Sold! JS Group buys Permasteelisa for $811 million

Officials of Japan's JS Group Corp. announced Aug. 4 thatthe company has acquiredItaly-based contract glazier Permasteelisa S.p.A.for about $811 million, through its consolidated subsidiary LIXIL Corp.

Permasteelisa operates in 27 countries around the world. It's North American segment topped Glass Magazine's 2011Top 50 Glaziers list. The company employs about 1,000 people stateside and has U.S. locations in Chicago; Corona, Calif.; Miami; Mendota Heights, Minn.; and New York City; in addition to its headquarters location in Windsor, Conn.
