YKK AP introduces Rapid Building Envelope Program

Officials from YKK AP America announced the Rapid Building Envelope Program, a rapid delivery program of a wide range of YKK products. By shipping from a single location, YKK AP now makes its products available for shipment in as little as 72 hours, according to a July 13 YKK release. The program enables architects and designers to meet aggressive project schedules and get started almost immediately on the assembly of a building envelope, according to the release.

"Fast track construction has been around for awhile, but I believe it is now more normal in practice," Mike Turner, YKK vice president of marketing, said in an interview. "Contractors have an improved ability to manage a much more aggressive project schedule, which holds our customer's feet to the fire."

The new Rapid Building Envelope Program covers multiple configurations for 20 YKK AP product lines. It also incorporates all standard profiles and accessories associated with eligible product lines to meet the needs of projects containing special conditions, including corners and receptors.

"The program includes products that are typically used in a commercial project," Turner said. "Most commercial projects use a myriad of products, so we've included curtain wall, storefront, window wall and other products in this program."
