Architectural Billings Index falls in April

Tight financing for projects pushed the Architectural Billings Index down 2.9 points to 47.6 in April, according to a May 18 report from Reuters. The new project inquiries index also fell 3.7 points to 55.0. The index, from the American Institute of Architects, provides an indicator for construction activity 9 to 12 months in the future.
