Effective June 1, 2011, Brian Clark will succeed Tom Trainor as president of Trainor Glass Co., Alsip, Ill., according to a May 13 company release. As CFO, Tom Trainor will focus on continued strategic growth along with Bob Trainor, CEO.
Clark has been with the company since he was 16. In 1991, he filled out his first and only job application with Trainor Glass and started sweeping floors, according to the release. Soon after, he was promoted to fabrication and installation, learning all aspects of the curtain wall and glazing industry. Later, he was promoted to estimator, and in 1995, to project manager, during which time he was responsible for overseeing prestigious projects in the Chicago area, including McCormick Place Convention Center, State Farm Corporate Headquarters and the first cable-net system in the country at One North Wacker, according to the release.
In 2000, Clark started the Dallas Division. Within a few years, it became Trainor's best performing division, which it continues to be today, with showcase regional projects that include the Omni Fort Worth Hotel, Dallas Omni Hotel and Convention Center, Hunt Corporate Headquarters, One Arts Plaza and the newest, Museum Tower – Live for the Arts. As senior executive vice president, Clark led his North Carolina team in one of Trainor Glass' largest curtain wall projects to date, Bank of America, located in the heart of downtown Charlotte, N.C., according to the release.
