An Omaha replacement window company will pay a civil penalty of nearly $4,000 and provide nearly $12,000 in new windows to an Omaha charity to settle a federal environmental complaint.
The Environmental Protection Agency says Window World's Omaha office had failed to pass out EPA-approved pamphlets about lead hazards before starting some renovations. The rule is part of the Toxic Substances Control Act passed in 1992, according to an April 22 report in The Republic.
