Glaston appoints new senior vice president

Glaston Corp., Finland,has appointed Uwe Schmid to the position of senior vice president, Software Solutions, according to an April 8 release. He will start at Glaston in the middle of July and assume the full operational responsibility of the Software Solutions Business Area on Sept. 1. He will be a member of Glaston Corp.'s Executive Management Group and report to Arto Mets?nen, president and CEO.

The current SVP of Software Solutions, Günter Befort, will continue at Glaston as senior industrial adviser and as a member of the Executive Management Group, and will support the new SVP in his new duties.

Schmid has broad IT and industry experience. Prior to this appointement, he was a senior expert at McKinsey & Co. and a member of the global leadership team of the Business Technology Office.
