Officials of Apogee Enterprises Inc.[Minneapolis] said Russell Huffer plans to retire as chief executive as soon as a successor is named. Huffer has stepped down as chairman, effective immediately.
The parent company ofViracon, Harmon Inc., Wausau Window and Wall Systems, Linetec and Tubelite said that it was starting its search for a new CEO immediately and that the board has named Bernard P. Aldrich as chairman. Huffer will remain on the board until the new chief is named, according to a Jan. 19 report in The Wall Street Journal.
