The Protective Glazing Council International, Topeka, Kan.,will host the first meeting of its new Government Affairs Committee on at 10 a.m. on Dec. 15, according to a Nov. 17 release. Created by PGC International President Urmilla Sowell at the organization's Annual Symposium, Nov. 3-4,at the National Institute of Standards and Technology headquarters in Gaithersburg, Md., the GAC will discuss important protective glazing issues and advocate on behalf of the industry to various federal government agencies, as well as on Capitol Hill.
"The Government Affairs Committee is charged with important functions for the entire industry," said Brian Pitman, director of marketing and communications, PGC International, in the release. "One of the key strategies for the organization is to enhance its interaction with the federal government, cementing its position as the primary interface between industry and the government.This first meeting will be an exciting start to what will undoubtedly be a successful achievement of this goal."
