glasstec 2010, International Trade Fair for Glass Production – Processing – Products, opens today [Sept. 28] at the Düsseldorf fairgrounds in Germany. For the first time, solarpeq – International Trade Fair for Solar Production Equipment, is being held concurrently with glasstec, Sept. 28–Oct. 1.
solarpeq is geared toward companies that offer process engineering/production equipment for thin-film and crystalline photovoltaics, machinery and equipment for the production of solar applications, and components and raw materials.
At the show, 1,274 exhibitors are presenting their innovations, occupying approximately 681,355 square feet of net exhibition space. To date, the largest exhibitor contingents at glasstec 2010 come from Germany and Italy, followed by China, Austria and France. In all, 787 international exhibitors from 51 countries are participating in the trade fair. The North American pavilion is hosting19 companies; 20 companies participated in glasstec 2008. Eight North American companies are exhibiting at solarpeq.
In keeping with the key theme of energy efficiency with glass, a number of conferences are on the agenda. Click hereto see a list of conferences.
The official craftsmen's day at glasstec this year will be Oct. 1, and the Federal Association of Glazier Trades will offer seminars and advance training courses in cooperation with exhibitors.
glasstec 2010 also will host the auto glaziers’ competition, staged by the International Automotive Glass Federation, The Netherlands. In addition, the Autoglass Arena in Hall 10 will highlight companies presenting automotive glass products and services.
