Vistamatic, Coral Ridge, Fla., partnered with Chicago’s Rush University Medical Center, Block Iron Contractors and Perkins Will Architects to supply Vision Panels for a brand new, state-of-the-art 14-story hospital currently under construction and scheduled to open in January 2012, according to a Sept. 21 release.
Vistamatic Secure Glazed Vision Panels consist of three sheets of glass set within an insulated unit, which are operated using Vistamatic's propriety lever mechanism. When the lever is turned, the inner sheet of glass rises to enable observation and, by turning the handle back, vision is obscured. All Vision Panels consist of 100 percentrecyclable material, including glass and galvanized steel components, which aligns with Rush’s ambitions to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design certification for its new hospital building awarded by The U.S. Green Building Council, a nonprofit organization, for buildings with high environmental standards.
“We are thrilled to win such a prestigious contract," said Kevin Roth,CEO, Vistamatic, in the release. "Our partnership with this highly innovative and environmentally responsible hospital is testament to the quality and reliability of our products, our commitment to environmental sustainability and clearly demonstrates the growth of the Vistamatic brand throughout the U.S.”
