glasstec 2010, International Trade Fair for Glass Production – Processing – Products, will welcome visitors with a revised structure and an even wider range of themes, according to an Aug. 11 release. For example, solarpeq – International Trade Fair for Solar Production Equipment, will be held for the first time concurrently with glasstec, generating new synergies between the glass and solar industry sectors. At glasstec and solarpeq 2010, around 1,260 exhibitors will present their innovations, occupying approximately 678,000 square feet of net exhibition space. About 1,200 companies will exhibit at glasstec 2010 while 160 firms have registered for solarpeq 2010 – including the exhibitors showcasing products at both trade fairs. Both events will take place Sept. 28–Oct. 1 at the fairgrounds in Düsseldorf, Germany.
To date, the largest exhibitor contingents at glasstec 2010 come from Germany and Italy, followed by China, Austria and France. Overall, exhibitors from 49 countries will participate in the trade fair. The companies in Halls 9 -11 will showcase glass products and applications for flat and hollow glass, while in Halls 11 and 12 as well as 14-17 glass finishing and processing technologies will be on display. Hall 12 will feature measurement and control technology as well as software for glass machinery. Companies from the glass production and production engineering sector can be found in Halls 13-16. The center of solarpeq will be Hall 14, even though glasstec exhibitors with solar production technology products will also be housed in Halls 9-17, according to the release.
Again this year, the key theme at glasstec 2010 will be energy efficiency with glass. The completeness of technologies on show at glasstec 2010 means that glass machinery production, glass manufacturing and the glazier trade not only form the three focal points of the trade fair but also have a great appeal for visitors from precisely those segments. In addition, the trade fair is an equally important platform for architects, construction engineers, fa?ade planners and related professions looking for comprehensive information on the latest trends and applications for glass. A special highlight for them will be the ancillary events at glasstec, including the glass technology live special show and symposium, the Architecture Congress, the “engineered transparency” Conference and the Fa?ade Center.
The wide range of products on display at glasstec and solarpeq 2010 will be complemented by the ancillary program for skilled craftsmen, the glass art exhibition, as well as the Autoglass Arena hosting both the national and international auto glass technician championships. The solarpeq conference "Solar Meets Glass" will bring together solar and glass industry representatives in a setting of this kind for the first time.
