Solarpraxis AG and Messe Düsseldorf will bring together solar and glass industry representatives at the launch of the new conference “Solar Meets Glass – 1st Industry Summit for Solar Production, Logistics and Technology” on Sept. 27 and 28, according to a July 28 release. The conference will accompany the two trade fairs glasstec 2010, International Trade Fair for Glass Production – Processing - Products and solarpeq 2010, International Trade Fair for Solar Production Equipment, Sept. 28–Oct. 1, in Düsseldorf, Germany. The conference will give participants the opportunity to jointly address current issues and needs in both sectors. After providing an overview of the market and available technologies for photovoltaics and glass, the conference will focus on quality, cost reductions and logistics. The conference language will be English.
Managers, development engineers and buyers from the glass and solar industries attending the conference will obtain strategic know-how for investment decisions and manufacturing optimization from renowned speakers. Among others, Peter Fath from centrotherm photovoltaics AG will talk about the challenges and needs from a turnkey-provider’s perspective; Thomas Hofmann from Centrosolar Group AG will outline the glass requirements for glass for thin-film and crystalline photovoltaics, while the analysts Markus Hoehner from EuPD Research and Henning Wicht from iSuppli will provide an overview of international markets.
The conference will specifically target producers of thin-film and crystalline photovoltaics, solar system integrators and producers of mounting systems for PV, in addition to glass producers, system suppliers of glass applications and glass mounting systems, as well as suppliers to the glass and solar sectors. With this, the event addresses both target groups of the solarpeq and glasstec trade fairs.
The venue is the Congress Center East with direct access to the exhibition halls. Registration for the conference is available at www.solarpeq.com. The participation fee (Euro 325 plus 19 percentVAT) includes free admission to glasstec and solarpeq 2010.
