Officials at C.R. Laurence Co., Los Angeles, today [May 6] announced that the company has entered into an agreement to purchase Jackson Corp., also of Los Angeles. Jackson has been a manufacturer of door hardware for the aluminum and tempered glass door industry formore than50 years.
“We are very pleased to announce this agreement.” said Lloyd Talbert, president of C. R. Laurence, in a release. “Jackson Corp. leads the industry as a manufacturer of high quality door hardware ... In this transaction, CRL will acquire all of the operating assets and intellectual property of Jackson. The manufacturing operations will be housed in our new 60,000-square-foot facility in Vernon, Calif., while Jackson products will be distributed worldwide through the current network, as well as CRL’s own worldwide network. “
“In addition,” Talbert continued, “we anticipate that all of the Jackson employees will come to work for us in Vernon. Robert Rivera, Jackson’s president, has been very instrumental in assisting with the acquisition, and will continue as a resource in the future development of the Jackson brand.”
“This acquisition will greatly benefit our customers, providing them with additional high quality architectural hardware choices to meet their needs," Talbert said. "Jackson’s very popular Transom Closer was originally developed and patented over 35 years ago. The innovative features of today’s versions continue to make the Jackson Transom Closer a top choice. The company’s Panic Exit Hardware is universally recognized as the standard for the aluminum storefront market.”
“We look forward to bringing Jackson’s manufacturing operations to our new facility, and welcome the Jackson employees to C.R. Laurence,” Talbert concluded.
