Carrie Maun-Smith has joined Safelite Group, Columbus, Ohio, as assistant vice president of operational excellence, according to an April 29 release. She will be responsible for streamlining business processes and implementing performance measurement and management systems that improve operational excellence.A former Safelite director of internal audit and quality assurance, Maun-Smith rejoins the company from Wendy’s International. After serving as manager of engineering strategic projects and planning, and working in internal auditing for two years, she was promoted to director of strategic initiatives and planning. Prior to joining Safelite in 1997, Maun-Smith was director of accounting for Doctor’s Hospital and an accounting supervisor for Symix Systems.“We’re very pleased that Carrie has rejoined the Safelite team," said Brian O’Mara, vice president of contact center operations, in the release. "She possesses a deep knowledge of reporting and analysis that will translate to actionable opportunities for improvements in operational excellence. We look forward to the great contributions she and her team will make. They’re sure to positively impact customer experience in a measurable way, bringing us one step closer to our goal of becoming the ‘natural choice’ in auto glass repair and replacement.” Maun-Smith earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio. She started her career with Deloitte & Touche LLP, in Columbus, Ohio, where she obtained her CPA. She also holds a master’s degree in business administration from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. Maun-smith is currently a volunteer with “A Kid Again” and a member of the New Directions Career Center Finance Committee. She resides in Columbus with her husband Trond, dean of students for Westerville Central High School.
