Safelite Group, Columbus, Ohio, promoted Jared Stefango to director of purchasing, according to an April 21 release. In this role, he will be responsible for oversight of indirect spending programs, buyout and dealer pricing, as well as supporting the global purchasing team for bulk finished glass buying.After working for Goodyear Aerospace in program planning, operations support and material procurement, Stefango joined Safelite Group as a corporate buyer in 2006. He then became a purchasing manager, where he played an important role in protecting the company’s profitability. “Jared’s unique approach to purchasing has brought about tremendous change in our organization. His leadership and innovation are instrumental in saving the company money while delivering higher quality,” said Dino Lanno, senior vice president of supply chain, in the release. “In his new role, he will continue to successfully delight internal customers and lead efforts to improve the quality of products and services provided by the Safelite Group supply chain.”In addition to his responsibilities in his new role, Stefango will continue to lead the company’s efforts to become more environmentally responsible as chair of its “Green Team,” according to the release.
Stefango attended Bowling Green State University, where he obtained bachelor’s degrees in supply chain management and operations management. He resides in Dublin, Ohio.
