Two years after the tornado that blew out hundreds of windows at the Westin Peachtree Plaza, a massive window replacement project is still underway.
Instead of replacing only the windows that were broken, hotel managers decided to avoid a patchwork look and change the entire face of this 73-story building with new, stronger, more energy-efficient glass that meets today's stricter standards.
Crews with Skanska USA started at the top in August, and they are almost half-way through as they work their way to the bottom of the building, according to a March 14 11alive.com report.
