Pilkington Fire Protection Glass Group in North America has boosted performance and secured its customer service levels with the installation of a new glass cutting line to cut Pilkington Pyrostop Fire Rated Glass, according to a March 5 release.
"The new equipment represents a major investment for us but will significantly increase our performance and quality to meet future sales growth," said Bret Penrod, general manager, in the release. "We added this equipment to ensure that we can continue to meet our customers' demands quickly and efficiently, with the best quality fire rated glass product on the market today."
Pilkington Pyrostop is a clear fire-rated glass, classified by Underwriters Laboratories for 45-, 60-, 90- and 120-minute applications, and meets the highest level of human impact safety set forth by the CPSC. It meets all the test standards required by the IBC to be used as a wall, and for doors and openings. Pilkington Pyrostop is sold exclusively in the U.S. and Canada by Technical Glass Products, according to the release.
