Officials of the Glass Association of North America, Topeka, Kan.,announcedFeb. 19 that attendees tothe BEC Conference in March will be greeted during the event by Oscar Goodman, the Mayor of Las Vegas.
"Mayor Goodman, one of the strongest pro-business mayors in the United States, will offer his specific brand of leadership, humor and 'mystique' when he welcomes the glass industry to the great city of Las Vegas for the BEC Conference," said GANA Executive President Bill Yanek, in a release."As a leader who has seen the effects of the economic downturn firsthand, Goodman can easily relate to what several glazing contractors have experienced in the past 18 months."Goodman, who championed a construction-favorable environment during his stint as mayor for the past 11 years, laid the groundwork for the extensive new construction and remodeling boom the city experienced over the past decade before the economic downturn slowed these efforts.He is scheduled to speak in the morning on Monday, March 29, during the BEC Conference. Registration spots are still available.
