China low-E glass industry report, 2009, now available

China is a big consumer of energy. Its construction energy consumption reaches 500 million tons of standard coal annually, accounting for 27 percentof the total; besides, it is still increasing 5.84 percentabove annually, much faster than the energy production growth rate, according to the report. The energy consumed by glass doors and windows takes approximately 40 percentof the total construction energy consumption. Based on a rough calculation, the energy consumption by glass accounts for 8 percentof the total energy consumption.
