For three years in a row, Edgetech I.G., Cambridge, Ohio, has been recognized as one of Inc. 5000’s fastest growing companies in the United States with 19.5 percent sales growth from 2005 to 2008, according to an Aug. 24 Edgetech release. The Inc. 5000 is an extension of Inc. magazine’s annual Inc. 500 list.
“Savvy trend spotters and those who invest in private companies know that the Inc. 5000 is the best place to find out about young companies that are achieving success through a wide variety of unprecedented business models, as well as older private companies that are still expanding at an impressive rate,” said Jim Melloan, project manager, Inc. 5000, in the release. “That’s why our list is so eagerly anticipated every year.”
Earlier this year, Edgetech announced record-breaking sales in April, May and June for itsflagship product Super Spacer. According to Edgetech’s President Mike Hovan, this success is due, in part, to the passing of the economic stimulus bill, which offers a tax credit to homeowners who make energy-efficient home improvements, as well as continuous improvement initiatives within the company.
“We have the processes, products and personnel in place to maintain our leadership position in the industry for the years to come,” Hovan said in the release. “But honors, such as making the Inc. 5000 list for three years in a row, serve as a reminder to thank those who have contributed to Edgetech’s continued success for more than 20 years: our employees and our customers.”
The 5000 companies that made the list reported aggregate revenue of $214 billion and median three-year growth of 126 percent. In addition, the 2009 Inc. 5000 companies were engines of job growth, having created more than 1 million jobs since those companies were founded.
