The Vietnam Glass and Ceramics for Construction Corporation (Viglacera) will commence construction of an environmentally-friendly mortar production factory in Gia Lam district, Hanoi , on October 18.
The 1 million USD factory, equipped with the latest in German technology, is designed to have an initial annual output of 50,000 tonnes of dry mortar, said Nguyen Van Nghiep, General Director of the Viglacera Chemical Joint Stock Company, which will cooperate with the A&P Construction Concrete Joint Stock Company in carrying out the project.
The factory’s capacity is set to double after one or two years of operation, he said, adding that the world’s leading multi-national chemical group, Wacker Plymer, will provide the initial materials and technology for the factory.
According to Nghiep, once operational, the factory will be able to meet 1-2 percent of the domestic mortar demand.
Juergen Herein, Wacker Plymer Managing Director in South Asia told the press on October 15 that the factory is expected to become operational in late December, producing 25 different mortar products.
