Effective June 1, 2009, United Glass Corp. sold its wholly owned subsidiary, Louisville Plate Glass Co. to William A. Stone, former owner of LPG and one of the original founders of UGC, according to a June 12 release. LPG will continue to operate in its traditional marketplace with UGC maintaining a supplier relationship with LPG. Lawrence O’Connell, CEO, said the transaction was completed to take advantage of significant capital investments recently completed at UGC’s Atlanta and Cheswick, Pa., locations. The acquisition of state-of-the-art heat treat ovens, fabrication equipment, and automated systems provide the basis for UGC to realign and expand sales territories serviced by its remaining five glass and aluminum fabrication operations.

United Glass Corp., headquartered in Louisville, Ky., is a commercial glass fabricator providing glass products to a variety of markets and industries, primarily located in the Eastern United States through its five fabrication plants: Pdc Glass - United Glass Corp. Cheswick.; Pdc Aluminum – United Glass Corp., Cheswick; Pdc Michigan - United Glass Corp. Detroit; MOT - United Glass Corp., Columbus, Ohio; and TGI - United Glass Corp., Atlanta.
