Officials at CPFilms Inc., St. Louis, a wholly owned subsidiary of Solutia Inc., St. Louis, anda producer of LLumar and Vista commercial window films, announced the launch of one-of-a-kind energy audit tools including an online energy savings estimator called the One Minute Challenge, according to a June 4 release.Based on the U.S. Department of Energy’s DOE-2 energy simulation program, the One Minute Challenge online program utilizes easy-to-use drop-down menus to select location, building type, and window type and then provides estimated cost savings and carbon emissions reduction from using energy saving window film. The program also enables customers to request a more in-depth, customized energy audit for their building, conducted by CPFilms and its nationwide network of authorized dealers.“By working with the experienced team at CPFilms, customers will find customized solutions to help reduce energy costs and maximize their return on investment, while likely earning points toward green building certification such as LEED,” said Steve DeBusk, global energy solutions manager, CPFilms, in the release. As a result of a professional energy audit, buildings with CPFilms energy saving window films have been shown to realize annual energy savings of up to 15 percent, improve HVAC efficiency, and reduce carbon emissions, all with an average payback of less than three years. Window films also are installed at a fraction of the price of new glazing systems, making them a smart alternative to window replacement for energy savings, according to the release. To learn more about energy savings that CPFilms architectural window films can provide, visit the co-branded LLumar and Vista booths at the 2009 GSA Expo (booth #216A) in San Antonio, June 9-11, and the BOMA International Conference & The Every Building Show(booth #638) in Philadelphia, June 28-30. The booths will feature a film performance demonstration using a simulation of the sun’s heat through standard glass with and without film. Energy experts will be available during the shows to discuss your energy savings needs.
