The Glass Association of North America, Topeka, Kan.,released its 23rd Glass Informational Bulletin, a series of educational documents available to the industry as a free download on its Web site, according to a May 26 release. Titled Blast Mitigating Glazing, the GIB looks at various tests and standards in the industry for laminated glazing applications constructed to mitigate the hazards of a blast or explosion outside of a building incorporating these applications.
“The GANA Protective Glazing Committee created this document to help the industry understand testing and performance requirements that have been set for blast resistant glazing,” said Valerie Block, senior marketing specialist, DuPont Glass Laminating Solutions, Wilmington, Del.,and chair of the committee. “The Blast Mitigating Glazing Informational Bulletin is a good place to start for architects, building owners or fabricators interested in learning the basics around blast resistant glazing.”
Since their original creation, GANA’s Glass Information Bulletins have been downloaded more than 350,000 times from the Web site. Visitors to the site’s TechCenter will now be able to add this GIB to their library, according to the release.
