Vitrum Energy to be new section at this year's show

The 16th Vitrum, international exhibition specializing in machinery, equipment and systems for flat and hollow glass processing, to be held Oct. 28-31 in Milan, will host Vitrum Energy 2009, according to an April 8 Vitrum release. Vitrum Energy will be thefirst Italian and international showcase to present the latest technologies and materials for energy savings and utilization of renewable resources. The glass industry has responded with enthusiasm and commitment to the challenge brought on by limited energy resources available, working to develop innovative products. Common practices, like the use of insulating materials, have been joined by cutting-edge solutions like the manufacture of radiant panels and glass coatings, capable of producing photovoltaic energy.

The new section will offer a look into the future through the innovations of the leading international manufacturers and to preview the avant-garde solutions that will improve the energy efficiency of our homes, according to the release.

According to latest figures, more than 600 exhibitors will attend Vitrum 2009and approximately 25,000 people are expected to visit the four-day event, according to the release.
