The U.S. Chamber of Commerce selectedM3 Glass Technologies, Irving, Texas, as one of seven finalists for America’s Small Business of the Year Award, according to a March 16 U.S. Chamber release.The companybe honored during America’s Small Business Summit 2009, May 11-13, in Washington, D.C.

It is their hard work and concern for customers that leads to our success, and they have really stepped it up this year as business has become more challenging."
M3Glass Technologies has carved out a niche for itself as the first independent company to produce heat-treated, or tempered, glass in the Dallas-Fort Worth market and the first company in the area capable of producing curved glass, according to the release. The company added laminating to its list of servicesin 2008 andheat-soakin 2009.It sells fabricated glass products, such as frameless shower doors, glass handrails, and acid-etch glass, and specializes in heavy glass up to 1 inch. M3Glass is a PPG Certified Entrances and Interiors Fabricator for heavy Starphire glass and clear glass.
M3 Glass’ primary customers include home owners, builders, and store fixture manufacturers. Founded as an auto glass company in 1956, this third-generation family-owned business offers employee bonuses, nominates employees for national recognition, and encourages and helps them write articles for trade publications, according to the release. From the U.S. Chamber’s 56 Blue Ribbon Small Business Award winners, one finalist wasselected to represent each of seven regions. A single finalist will be named America’s SmallBusiness of the Year 2009 at the awards luncheon on May 12 during America’s Small Business Summit, according to the release.
America’s Small Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Sam’s Club, pays tribute tobusinesses showcasing exemplary business practices in the areas of staff training and motivation, community involvement, customer service, and business and financial planning.
