Plate glass production in China in the first eight months of this year was 10.0 percent higher in weight terms than in the same period in 2007, according to a report from China’s National Bureau of Statistics Oct. 17.
Ukraine exported glass and glass products worth $106 million in the first eight months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 22.9 percent, according to a report from Ukraine’s State Statistics Committee Oct. 21. Glass and glass products accounted for 0.2 percent of total Ukrainian exports during the period. Ukrainian imports of the same types of commodities in the January to August period were 39.9 percent higher year-on-year at $279 million. Glass and glass products accounted for 0.5 percent of total Ukrainian imports.
Belarus’ Ministry of Statistics reports that Belarus produced 335,000 square meters of multiglazed windows in the first nine months of this year, an increase of 21.8 percent as compared with the same period in 2007, according to the Interfax news agency Oct. 23.
