Croatia’s Ministry of Economy, Labor and Entrepreneurship reports that the Vetropack Straza glass packaging manufacturer has recently put into operation a rebuilt furnace with a daily production capacity of 230 tonnes of coloured glass, according to a June 17 SeeNews article. This capacity is 50 tons higher than the previous capacity. The furnace has reportedly cost HRK151 million ($32 million). Vetropack Straza is located in Hum na Sutli on the Croatian/Slovenian border. It sells its products on the Croatian market and exports to other countries in South-East Europe.Ukraine exported glass and glass products worth $49.7 million in the first four months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 41.1 percent, according to a June 30 report from Ukraine’s State Statistics Committee. Ukrainian glass and glass products imports in the January to April period were 43 per cent higher year-on-year at $123 million.
