According to Zibo Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, in February this year, Japan modified its regulation on the stripping of lead or cadmium from glass, ceramic and glazing equipment and containers in contact with food, and enacted regulations for different materials according to the standard of ISO. The modified regulation has been intended to get approval at the end of April, and takes effect on October 2008.

Ceramics is one of the large-volume exported products for Zibo City. Among ceramic export companies, more than 20 companies export their products to Japan. During the first three quarters, 266 batches of ceramics valued 2.92 million U. S. Dollars have been exported to Japan through Zibo Inspection and Quarantine Bureau.

Zibo Inspection and Quarantine Bureau informs of the related companies to pay close attention to the new regulations and make sure that their products are qualified.
